After finishing college he worked at Tenneco Oil Company on land operations as an engineer and supervisor running land rigs in South Texas and Louisiana and also barge rigs in South Louisiana.  Back in 1986 he worked international operations for Conoco which involved jack ups in the Gulf of Suez in Egypt and the GOM, semisubmersible rigs in the North Sea and Indonesia with workover operations with an Artic Class rig in Alaska.

In 1993 he worked in the International Turnkey and Project Management Industry on assignments in the Gulf of Mexico, South Korea, Venezuela, Malaysia, Turkmenistan, and West Africa with land, jack up, and semisubmersible rigs.

For the next 10 years he worked as a Consultant in operations as engineer and supervisor for jack up and semisubmersible assignments in GOM, Israel, Ireland, Egypt, Nigeria, and China which involved both exploration and subsea developments.

In 2010, Robert consulted for Exxon Mobil in Lagos, Nigeria as a Drilling Engineer Advisor to support the operation of 4 jack ups and to lead a young staff of Nigerian Drilling and Completion Engineers.  At the peak of the industry which started the downturn in drilling activity in 2014, Robert worked with a rig share semisubmersible operation with a Chinese Semi in New Zealand with 3 different operators.

He also worked in a project management assignment with a Sinopec Land rig and Chinese services in the drilling of four gas wells in Bangladesh for over 1 year which increased the needed gas delivery to power plants for a small gas operator.  The last assignment performed before joining Springfield in July 2017 was drilling of a deepwater appraisal well for Nido Petroleum with a 6th generation Drill Ship in the Philippines.

Robert is very honoured to be able to use his experience in the development of Springfield resources in Ghana and looks forward to successful field operations of the subsea development which will benefit both the country and company for the building of the first Local Ghanaian Offshore Operator.
